The passage of the Obamacare Bill is certainly a defeat to our cause and is depressing, but that battle is not over. It will go to the United States Supreme Court who may well declare it unconstitutional. Even if this does not happen remember the following:
· From the Battle of Concord and Lexington in April, 1775 until the Battle of Trenton in December of 1776 George Washington lost EVERY battle. But he persevered and finally won the war.
· During World War II we lost the opening battles. We were surprised at Pearl Harbor and defeated at Wake Island, and in the Philippians. But we persevered and won the war.
In all of these cases, thousands lost their lives, property was destroyed, and the citizens became refugees. We may be depressed, but how does that compare to the suffering back then. Have we become so week and complacent that one defeat makes us want to run home and quit? What if Washington and his fledgling army did the same? What if our troupes and commanders threw up their hands in World War II and come home to wait?
The Tea Parties were not created to defeat Obamacare; they were formed to preserve our country by returning our government to the Constitutional restraints and fiscal responsibility.
Remember that old, antique document that on one reads or pays much attention to? It is called the Declaration of Independence and it ends with this pledge:
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
Can we do any less?
I just read an article by Townhall’s Joseph Phillips, it states:
How much longer will we listen to lies supported by evidence that has been cooked? How much longer will we allow the people’s representatives to run interference for private industry and expand the reach and power of federal bureaucracy? How much longer will we allow congressmen-for-life to mismanage the financial future of this nation- putting the security of her citizens at risk? How much more rope must we allow them before they finally hang themselves and us along with them?
If there is to be a second revolution then let it begin here and now! Let the political bloodbath begin in November followed closely by more bloodletting in 2012. No one will be safe. Neither a “D” nor an “R” following a name will be sufficient protection from the people’s blade! There is no time like now to begin the winnowing process; and there is no better reason than to dismantle a government that can’t be trusted to keep its part of the bargain.
