Anyone with an ounce of intelligence realizes Obama’s reaction to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been to make speeches, do photo-ops and press his destructive agenda of “Cap and Trade”. He has shown no real leadership or even a basic understanding of how his actions affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of American Citizens. He has procrastinated for weeks to bring any attempted solution to cleaning up the oil spill, he has prevented local officials from using their ideas to prevent the destruction of our marshlands and beaches, and he has refused offered help from other nations to help clean up the disaster. It has gotten so bad that local citizens were out in their own boats using their own shop-n-vacs to in a desperate attempt to suck up the oil and put it in drums on barges to save our marshes. Obama’s Federal Officials put a stop even to this desperate attempt.

Anywhere the oil has invaded our marshes, the marshes die, the land is washed away, and breading grounds are destroyed. The marshes are the breading ground to thousands of species; many of them are salt water fish. The marshes also act as a buffer for high surge tides from hurricanes and help prevent flooding of many areas. With the marshes gone, the tides will flow far inland. This could make the Katrina disaster look like child’s play. If you want to see what may happen, bring up a map of Louisiana and color the green marshlands to blue of the Gulf. That may be the new Louisiana coast after our marshlands are destroyed.

His moratorium on drilling has added another disaster on top of what is happening already. When the courts have ruled his moratorium as “arbitrary and capricious” and therefore illegal, he set his minions out to try to discredit the judge who ruled against him. The dinosaur media blindly repeated the false claim that the judge owned “oil stock”. The fact that this judge divested himself of the stock two years ago or that an oil shortage due to the moratorium would raise oil prices and be to the benefit of the judge, if he still owned “oil stock”, was ignored by the media.  His next action was to ignore the court ruling and re-impose the moratorium in violation of law and, as an after thought, to appeal to a “higher court”.

This should not be surprising to anyone who followed his campaign on anything but the dinosaur media. During the campaign, Obama was asked about what he would do if there was another 9/11 attack. His response was he “would send ambulances”. When gas prices had risen to over $4.00, he responded with “That is about the level I want, but I did not want it to rise that fast”. This, in my opinion, showed his lack of understanding of what leadership was. None of the dinosaur media ever asked him how he was going to “fundamentally change America”; they were too busy campaigning for him. Now we know.

Obama makes impressive speeches but has not shown any leadership as President of the Untied States. We should elect him as the “Speechmaker in Chief”, but not the President of the Untied States. Being President requires leadership and decisive action when required, not speeches, photo-ops, or Hollywood designed sets.

Re: Obama’s Reaction to the Oil Spill

Obama is a disgrace to this great nation, America, and every move he makes is politically motivated. He doesn't want to address the oil spill problem along the coastal area because most of the states involved are run by republican governors.
